The IJA-ICT-Cronkite graduate fellowship was created, in partnership with the Walter Cronkite School of Journalism and Mass Communication at Arizona State University and ICT, to support an outstanding IJA member to pursue a master’s degree and produce content for the national ICT audience.

What master’s programs can you pursue?

The Cronkite/ICT fellow may select any of the four Cronkite master’s degrees offered on Arizona State University’s downtown Phoenix campus:

• Master of Arts in Investigative Journalism

• Master of Arts in Sports Journalism

• Master of Mass Communication

• Master of Arts in Strategic Communication

What’s included in the program?

• 15 hour-per-week internship with ICT for the academic year

• Free tuition for all three semesters of the Cronkite master’s program 

• Travel and participation cost for the annual IJA convention

• Salary for the academic year

• Health insurance

At ICT, this fellow will work alongside Indigenous journalists from a range of experiences. The fellow will have opportunities to produce stories for and about the Indigenous world for ICT digital and/or broadcast audiences.

Additionally, fellows will receive a one-year membership to IJA.
