Why join?

IJA is committed to increasing the representation of Indigenous journalists in all areas of media, and to provide our membership with the skills and professional network necessary to succeed in the media industry.

An IJA membership is more than just a professional affiliation. We are an extended family of professionals who share a common bond of identity and a deep commitment to the truth. We welcome everyone into our extended family because we understand that we are stronger together than we are apart.

Our Indigenous membership includes citizens of Native American tribes, Alaska Natives, Native Hawaiians, citizens of First Nations, and anyone who supports the Indigenous voice in media.

We invite you to join our cause!

Whether you are a student, an academic or a communications professional, we have a membership for you. If you are a member of an institution or media outlet that wants to support our mission, we have institutional memberships too.
